Arbitration I is an amazing learning experience! I
have been taking courses in the field of dispute resolution since
1993, yet this is the first course I have taken which focused on arbitration. Arbitration
is a key ADR alternative and I found this course to be an excellent
introduction to both the law and procedure in the area. I really
enjoyed the class discussions and guest speakers and I came way
with a thorough overview of the process. This course opened a window
for me onto another option in the ADR spectrum of dispute resolution.
I look forward to the completing my training through to the next
level."

AAMS course Instructors bring a wealth of personal
and professional knowledge to the courses. Their own backgrounds
in negotiation and mediation allow them to speak with considerable
authority on the subject matter. The net result is courses which
are professional, personal, informative, and enlightening.

"Thanks to the training I have received from
Alberta Arbitration and Mediation Society (AAMS) for the last five
years, I have been put on the roster to deliver mediation services
for the NWT Human Rights Commission. I am looking forward to this
exciting opportunity and pass on my thanks and appreciation to all
my instructors in the Certificate Program in Conflict Management
so far. I look forward to further training with the AAMS."

"I find using the Enneagram model in the context
of conflict resolution advantageous because it offers insight as
to how individual perspectives form fundamentally and how they manifest
in behaviour. I appreciate how it honors the dynamic interaction
between persons and personal growth as it speaks about the interconnectivity
of what is meaningful to each of us and the consequences of a thoughtful
response."

"It is very important for
a mediator not to judge, and the course offered by AAMS called,
Conflict Resolution and the Enneagram” helps me to remain
curious about interests and to probe in directions I would not otherwise
have known to go. Understanding and appreciating the Enneagram types
also enhances my empathy skills."

“I went through the entire training program
for mediation and negotiation. The pedagogy for the courses was
of course on a world-class level and I found new ways to communicate
my wants and needs. And this has assisted me with my personal life
as well as my professional life. The utility of the courses that
I took was rated by myself as quite high. It was refreshing to know
how to approach difficulties without being confrontational and on
the other side of the coin it was nice to be able to know how to
professionally and tactfully diffuse a highly emotional situation.
I hope that this testimonial will be published, as this is now a
part of my life.

"I have had the privilege of attending all of
the core courses and 1 elective for the Certificate in Conflict
Management and have found all courses > "life-changing".
The instructors and coaches have vast experience that they bring
to the training that greatly enhances the learning environment and
the practical approach of the training ensures that you get to use
skills learned. “
“I have found that all of the courses have contributed
to my skill development particularly in the area of communication,
negotiation and mediation. I have used these skills at work, in
my volunteer capacities and especially at home. I always come back
from training excited and pumped - ready to try skills learned and
I have had some really good results. I have also learned that it
takes time to acquire the skills and practice is the best way to
do so. Other spin-offs have been the incredible books that get recommended
in the courses by instructors, coaches and other participants.”
“I highly recommend this training to everyone
it's a great "life-enhancing" skills program!"
